Industrial Design Certificate

Designs from my undergraduate experience

Background:

2021 - 2023

I was first formally introduced to the design world when I transferred to Northwestern University for their Segal Design Institute at the McCormick School of Engineering. These projects are a sampling of what I accomplished during my years as an undergraduate.

Roles:

  • Modeling (SolidWorks)

  • Prototyping

  • Sketching

First Project - Improved Walker

Sophomore year of college I took an intro to industrial design class where the goal of the course was to design a product to improve the lives of the elderly. My team and I designed a prototype of a moterized walker that could be customed with different colors and patterns so people would be able to find their walkers easier amongst others.

Cloud Lighting

Initial sketches of the lamp

Cloud lighting was one of my favorite projects at school. The aim was to use paper creatively to design a lamp. By piecing together squares of paper at their edges with tape, it allows light to shine through in interesting patterns.

Cardboard Stroller

This project aimed to design a children’s toy entirely out of cardboard. This presented the unique problem of how to join different pieces without glue.

Power Partner

Initial sketches of the power partner

The prompt for this project was to design a product that improves some aspect of your hobby. I modeled an inviting, simplified power rack for new gym goers.
